Day Job Season 2
An animated comedy about the over‑qualified staff at a local bowling alley, and their struggles balancing career dreams and reality.
Synopsis
A new job at the bowling alley introduces aspiring filmmaker Ivan to a mismatched group of lost souls, all stuck in a dead-end job, as they struggle to get their true careers off the ground. Gutterball (the local bowling alley) is plagued with slow business and a tyrannical head-office. Shifts could get cut at any moment, causing tension among the staff and their relationships.
Careers, dating, the housing market... It’s all a mess, but the bowling alley crew have learned to cope with the stress by simply kicking back, and goofing off together whenever the boss turns a blind eye.
But as time slips by, and life starts throwing challenges their way, this carefree attitude begins to prove insufficient.
Will our talented team ever achieve their dream jobs? Or is it time to start being realistic?
Season 2
Working at a crappy bowling alley like Gutterball is not as fun as it sounded on the Indeed page. And for film grad, Ivan, it’s definitely not how he’d expected his 20s to go. But when a film crew visits Gutterball, the staff are thrilled to find themselves starring in a documentary for a big film festival. Until they discover it’s actually an exposé on the bowling alley’s poor conditions, and their excitement turns into panic. Each character takes a different approach to fighting this threat to their business. Lily interns at a law firm tasked with stopping the exposé, Rico tries physical threats, and Ivan tries simply to make a better film, and beat them out of the film festival.
